by Louise Burgers. A new digital rewards and gifting platform, Wrapped, launches for both business, retail and consumers; Montego has a saucy new look; and Staycold is on the hunt for the oldest beverage fridge in South Africa.
Digital rewards and gifting platform launches
wiGroup has launched a new self-service digital rewards and gifting platform aptly named, Wrapped. The new platform links South African individuals, SMEs and corporates looking to seamlessly issue digital rewards and gifts, with some of the country’s leading fashion, electronics, pharmacy, hospitality and lifestyle brands. wiGroup currently issues over R100 million in digital rewards value per month assisting corporates who wish to reward employees and customers; while driving significant revenue to the retailers integrated to the platform. The launch of Wrapped takes the offering from an integrated experience for large corporates to that of a self-serve option open to anyone, anywhere.
Wrapped offers the convenience of a retailer-specific digital gift card which is redeemable at that retailer, or a generic Wrapped gift card that can be used at any of the platform’s partners. Visitors can purchase from a growing list of gift cards that currently include: the iStore, Incredible Connection, Dis-Chem, Pick n Pay, Hirsch’s, Cellucity, HiFi Corporation, Nando’s, Hungry Lion, Primi, vida e caffè, Burger King, Toy Kingdom, Mugg & Bean and the Cape Union Mart Group including Poetry, Cape Union Mart, Keedo, Old Khakhi and Tread + Miller. Global e-gifting amassed revenues of more than $20-billion in 2016, and the market is expected to grow at 20.7% compound annual growth rate by 2024.
Saucy dogs’ dinner
Montego Pet Nutrition’s Sauce for Dogs and Sauce Plus range now comes in new packaging that is brighter and “reflects the personality” of the family-owned brand as it stands today: “progressive and innovative” in the pet food manufacturing sector. Sauce for Dogs comes in four flavours; including Boerewors, Grilled Chicken, Roast Lamb and Grilled steak; with two specialised sauces that target joint and cartilage or skin and coat health. The new-look Sauce for Dogs is available in 500ml bottles at a RRP of R37.00, and specialised sauces at a RRP of R45.00.
Wanted: The oldest Staycold fridge in SA
Staycold are busy approaching their bottlers, dealers and corporate customers who may know of any of their clients, i.e., restaurants, cafes, farm stores, supermarkets, hotels, chefs, etc, who may still be using one of Staycold’s original beverage coolers, manufactured in the 1980’s. The winner will be selected based on the oldest, best looking unit that is in good working order in a typical environment where the coolers are used. The beverage coolers must still be in working order. This will then be brought back and showcased together with their new models, at the head office showroom and factory in Parys, Free State. The competition is being run until January 31, 2021 – and the winner will be given a brand new model in exchange for their 40-year-old fridge. Lena le Roux, Staycold’s managing director explained that since their fridges had a reputation for “durability and reliability”, the unit was ‘Wanted Alive’.
