ARC’s destination beauty store

This week, luxury beauty destination, ARC, opened the doors to the biggest beauty-dedicated store in South Africa, located in the heart of Sandton City, Johannesburg. The store is 500 square meters with shelves packed with luxury makeup, skincare and fragrances. The collection includes Chanel, Dior, La Mer and Guerlain, among many more. ARC also launched Huda Beauty, Wishful Skincare and Kayali fragrances into the country as official stockist; as well as cult-favourites, Beauty Blender and Atelier Versace. ARC marketing executive Kelly Fung described the new store as a “beauty wonderland”. The store takes the old-school beauty counter approach, except with ‘beauty architects’ on hand to offer expert advice. The team includes makeup artists, skin specialists and fragrance consultants. There are also bespoke spaces to fulfil client needs – from skin analysis and care, to a treatment ‘Pod’.

Canned design from BOS

BOS Iced Tea has launched a limited edition iced tea can using the winning design from their 2017 Design A Can competition. The brand has been waiting for an opportunity to get the fun and quirky design into the market. The winning designer, Petro Vivier (now Swanepoel) says, “I played around with quite a few ideas before I settled on the one I called ‘Happiness in a Can’. The design itself was inspired by BOS Ice Tea’s ‘healthy but fun’ philosophy. I also liked the idea of ‘doodling’ on one of their cans.” Will Battersby, CEO of Bos Brands, says, “One of the brand pillars of the BOS Ice Tea brand is self-expression and creativity, so we are proud to share this design that sums up our philosophy of ‘healthy can be fun’.” Bos brands are made with organic rooibos and its iced tea is now available in the United States, Europe and Australia. The product range now includes rooibos fruit icys, four variants of rooibos health shots, Bos Sport and Sport Pro.

BIC’s limited edition celebration

For Father’s Day this year, BIC produced a limited edition collection of vintage car tins in a novel gift display exclusively for Pick n Pay. The idea was to make the special dad’s day memorable with an affordable and useful gift which also played the nostalgia card. Packaged inside the tin was a Bic utility lighter and Bic firelighters 24 pack, retailing at R99.
